About the Adventure:

Makapu’u Point Lighthouse Trail:

Duration: 4 hours

From the trail's end at Makapu‘u Head, relish breathtaking views of the windward coast, historic Makapu‘u Lighthouse, and offshore islets.

The 100-year-old lighthouse features a historic “hyper-radiant” lens, and on clear days, you may even glimpse Moloka‘i and Lana‘i.

Wildlife sanctuaries on offshore islets host Hawaiian seabirds, offering an excellent opportunity to view migrating humpback whales (November-May).

Bring binoculars for whale and seabird watching, and use interpretive signs and viewing scopes along the trail.

Halona Blowhole Stop:

During the journey, we pause at the Halona Blowhole, one of Hawaii's most popular attractions.

Capture the spectacular natural phenomenon in a 15-minute stop, where the blowhole may spray water up to 20 feet in the air.

Both the blowhole and summit provide incredible vantage points to spot Hawaii's annual winter visitors, the Humpback whales.
